Bellagio and Lake Como

We started our Italian vacation lounging in the north on Lake Como. Due to a ferry strike we didn't see as much of the lake as we wanted to, but really got to explore Bellagio and the tiny villages nearby.

The Siena Province and Tuscany

Our next stop was a week in Tuscany, staying in a (converted) 14th century monastery just outside Montepulciano. We rented a car and explored the Tuscan countryside, primarily the Siena Province.

Rome

Finally, we spent two days confronting the hustle and bustle of Rome. This was not a relaxing way to end our trip, but rather an action-packed one.

Crazy Animals of Italy

On the one hand, there are all sorts of cute cats and dogs running around the streets in Italy. On the other hand, it turns out they have some serious problems with people not fixing their animals, and abandonment of pets is rampant. On that sobering note, I present the best, cutest and sweetest of the animals we came across in our travels...check them out here.
